On the Floor Again.

A good segue would be into live nude bodies. Which can mean many differnt things, dead, naked, nude, vulnerable, striped, controlled, viewed, exposed, sexual, used, mystical, mythical, exotic, on display. What does it say when a woman is nude as a posed to a man or child? And yes many of these images seem to repeat or be very similar to each other. And what is the relationship between the clothed and nude figures? If any? Is it power, statues, Gods and humans? Many of these nude figures are female and most of them are portrayed as Goddess, manly the Goddess Venus.

One of These Days

Currently with my work, now that I have a studio of my own, I have no idea what to do. All summer I had a huge mental and artistic block. This is about the time where I need to go back and look at what moved me, old ideas, and new works from other people. But at the same time sometimes when I look at other peoples work, from my class or museum, I try to imitate them and get their ideas and work all jumbled up with my ideas and work. I think right now I need to go back to what I was good at, figures, so I want to start painting figures again with symbolic and metaphoric contexts. I think that is the right place for me, I always seem to go back to it and it draws me into it at the same time. Getting started is always the hard part. I really want to get some models in my studio or at home and also do some I? Sometimes the best pieces of mind come when I have no clue what I am doing and I just GO! Just do just work, and somehow my intuition takes over and I stop thinking about all the crap in the world that blocks me from my work and it just comes.

When the world ends

It occurred to me on the train this morning that our society has become so obsessed with the appearance of things, or people, that it no longer maters what it is, or if it works. Or if we are healthy, as long as we look fashionable and buy all the latest trends then we are good. Life is more then this it used to be more then this, it is no longer about being educated about the world, seeing all there is to be seen, living life the fullest. School is no longer a privilege but a chore, children to not learn in school they wait for all the moments in between the teachers words where they can get a break from reality. What will this make our future rulers of the world? How will they dictate this world. I think that it will be a very shity place in the future and I hope I am not around to see it all crumble.

Where the hell have you been?

I havnt blogged in a long as time, I have been very very busy with a new job.

I was catering for a movie being shot here in Chicago called "Shakey". I'm not going to go into details but lets just say it was hell everyday all day for 14 hour days. But its over thank god. Now I have a new job working at a Halloween Warehouse and starting school again.

I have advanced painting studio 3 days a week, for 6 hours and then only 2 other classes. So I have a lot of painting to do. I have a lot of work to do this year, I am a senior and at the end of the year there is a final show, it could make your future. There will be a lot of big wigs there and people who could give a job. So it is very important that I try very hard on my painting and art this year.
